RFG welcomes ORR Decision on EWS Appeal on use of HS1 for freight RFG today (25 September) welcomed the ORR Decision on the Appeal by EWS Railway directing the Infrastructure Manager of HS1, formerly the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, to make arrangements for the publication of an up-to-date Network Statement for the HS1 railway’ that ‘includes sufficient information to enable an operator to calculate how much it costs to operate services on the HS1 railway.’ Winners of the RAIL FREIGHT GROUP AWARDS 2008 At its Awards Dinner and its Annual Policy Meeting today (Wednesday 17 September 2008), RFG announced the winners of its first ever awards event. Commission gets tough with member states and their railways After a long period of study the European Commission finally launched infraction proceedings against all member states Network Rail recognises the need to plan for growth – when will the Government do so? RFG welcomes the announcement by Network Rail (24 June 2008) that it plans to investigate five or six routes for high speed lines or other means of increasing capacity on the network. ORR Supports freight growth RFG welcomes the outcome of the Office of Rail Regulation’s (ORR’s) Draft Determination of Network Rail’s revenue requirements and access charges for the period from 2009 to 2014 published yesterday (5 June).
